Brunswick Local Market collects only the information needed to operate a safe local marketplace. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

Information we collect

• Account details such as your name, email address, encrypted password, and email-verification status.
• Listing information, including item descriptions, photographs, prices, general community, and listing status.
• Messages, reports, and support requests you submit through the service.
• Basic security records such as truncated or hashed network identifiers, timestamps, and request activity used to prevent abuse.
• Visit statistics: the pages you view, the site that sent you here, your browser and device type, and your IP address with its approximate location (city and state). We use these to see which pages are useful and to block abusive or foreign bot traffic, and keep them for up to 180 days.
• Payment status and transaction identifiers for optional promotions. Card numbers are handled by Stripe and are not stored by us.

How information is used

We use information to provide accounts and listings, moderate content, deliver seller messages, process optional promotions, prevent fraud and spam, respond to support requests, and maintain the security of the service.

What is public

Approved listings display the item, price, photographs, condition, and general community. Exact street addresses and seller email addresses are not displayed publicly.

Sharing

We use service providers for hosting, email delivery, and payments. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when legally required or when reasonably necessary to protect users and the service.

Retention and deletion

Expired and sold listings may be retained for a limited period for safety, dispute handling, and recordkeeping. You may request account deletion by emailing sales@brunswicklocalmarket.com. Certain records may be retained when required for security, legal, or financial purposes.

Children

The service is for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online service can promise absolute security. Please use a unique password and report suspected unauthorized access promptly.

Changes

Material updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
